Pastor Richard M. Haley has served the Hutchinson area for more that eight years! He began his ministry under the tuteledge of Dr. Dean Miller, the founder and Pastor Emeritus of the great Cornerstone Baptist Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Pastor Haley attended that church over twenty years before being called to Hutchinson. He headed many of the ministries of Cornerstone including the bus ministry, the Sunday School ministry and even founded their homeless ministry which has seen hundreds come to Christ and is still thriving today! Pastor Haley lived to see souls saved in Colorado Springs and has brought that same vibrant spirit to Hutchinson where Riverside Baptist has seen hundreds baptized since he began Pastoring. Since his arrival in Hutchinson, with just a handful in Sunday School his first Sunday, the church has grown to an average of over 200 on Sunday morning and to the point that a bigger building had to be purchased and having a vision of unfettered growth in the coming years led the church in acquiring 3.5 acres of undeveloped land in the heart of our city for the purpose of building yet another bigger building. Brother Kennedy has been active at Riverside since 1985. Today he serves as Youth Pastor, song leader, choir director and sound director. He is also the webmaster for RBC online. He is married to Shelley Kennedy. He may be reached by email at
Mrs Morris is head of our Sunday School Department. She also heads up our Wednesday evening Master's Club for kids and assists her husband, Bro. Steve Morris in the Nursing Home Ministry in our church. She is also our main piano player and assists Bro. Kennedy with the Riverside Baptist Choir and other special music. She has been saved since the age of four and has literally grown up in Baptist churches. Mrs. Morris has a B.S. degree in English and Education fromBob Jones University and has worked for 24 years in Christian Education. She has been a principal and counselor as well as a teacher and has worked at three christian schools. Mrs. Morris has an incredible grasp of the English langage as well as a great understanding of the need for an educated approach to fundamentalism and has brought a heightened level of attention to education in our old fashioned fundamentalist Baptist church.
Mrs. Haley is married to Pastor Haley so she wears a lot of hats. She is one of our teachers at Riverside Baptist Academy, she directs and accompanies the Teen Ensemble, plays the organ and captains bus #2 as well as just helping with whatever needs to be done. Pastor & Mrs. Haley have been married 18 years and have four children.
